If so why not join me for this transformative group workshop as we come together to create medicine drums infused with the magic of the equinoxes or solstices, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and connection.
Birthing your own medicine drum is a deeply spiritual and transformative experience. As you gather the materials and prepare to create your drum, you are connecting with the energies of the changing season, the balance of light and darkness, and the power of transition and growth.
The deer skins, are held in ceremony under the light of the full moon, infusing them with the energy of the cosmos with further sacred ceremonies take place prior to your arrival. Before you work with the deer skin you will be asked to connect with the spirit of the deer, where you will receive insight and let them know, that you will hold them with love forever more.
As you assemble the drum, you are not just creating a musical instrument, but a powerful tool for healing and connection. The act of bringing together the frame, the skin, and the lacing is a reflection of the unity of all things, and as you work, you are tapping into the ancient wisdom of the drum and the spirit world.
Finally, when your drum is complete, you hold it close to your heart and feel the vibrations of your own heartbeat resonating within it. This connection between you and the drum is a profound and intimate one, as you become one with the spirit of the drum and allow its healing energies to flow through you.

Bespoke 1-1 Drum Birthing
For An Extra Special Journey of Connection
In a 1-1 Bespoke Drum Birthing Workshop, the experience is tailored specifically to you, offering a level of personal attention and customisation that differs significantly from a group session. In this unique experience you will engage in the sacred process of birthing your drum from start to finish, connecting deeply with the spirit of the deer.
As in the group workshops the deer skins are held in ceremony over three days prior to your arrival. These rites and sacred ceremonies will remain confidential honouring the sanctity of the process.
On the day of the workshop you will prepare the full deer hide, choosing where you wish to place your hoop, cutting all parts of your drum, infusing your creation with intention and personal energy. Before you begin working with the deer skin, you will be invited to journey with the spirit of the deer. Connect & clear through the use of Sacred Smoke (Mapacho), smudge and sacred voice. This intimate moment allows you to receive insights and express your heartfelt commitment to honour the spirit of the deer, ensuring that you hold this sacred being with love and reverence forevermore.
In a 1-1 workshop, the entire session is focused on your unique journey. I can adapt the process to meet your specific needs, intentions, and creative vision.
You receive dedicated support and guidance throughout the workshop, allowing for deeper exploration of your personal connection with the materials and the spiritual aspects of drum making.
The intimate setting fosters a more profound connection with the spirit of the deer and the energies involved in the creation process. You have the space to engage in personal rituals and reflections without distraction. You can take your time to connect with your intuition and the spirit world, allowing for a more personal and transformative experience and have the freedom to make decisions about every aspect of your drum.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore your insights and experiences in depth, allowing for a more profound healing experience, as you can delve into your personal story and intentions.
1-1 Bespoke Workshop Details
Duration: Full Day 10 AM - 5:30 PM (Approx)
You'll create a 16” or 18" medicine drum and a handcrafted drum beater from a personally collected fallen branch. Feel free to bring a special crystal to weave into the centre of your drum, ribbons, feathers etc. for the beater. Maybe you'd like to add artwork, colour or etchings to your hoop. Anything to add that personal touch to your creation.

Prices above are for a Natural hide, however if you would like me to dye your hide prior to your arrival please add £20.

A Sacred Journey of Creation
Crafting Your Ocean Drum
An ocean drum is more than an instrument, it is a vessel of water’s wisdom, carrying the rhythm of the waves, the ebb and flow of life and the healing power of sound. Each turn of the drum becomes a meditation, a song of remembrance for the oceans that connect us all.
In this 1–1 full-day workshop, you will be guided on a sacred journey to create your own ocean drum. Every step of the process, from preparing your hoop to the hide is an opportunity to weave your intention, energy and spirit into your creation.
Opening the Space
We begin by calling in the spirit of the wood, deer and waters. Through sacred smoke, sound and guided meditation, you will connect with all, asking for guidance, offering gratitude and setting your intentions for the journey ahead. This ceremony prepares both you and the materials to come together in harmony.
The Crafting Process
Your Hoop:
A 3” deep 16” round hoop will form the body of your drum. You may paint, stain, or decorate it in the colours of your soul perhaps invoking the blues of the sea, the golds of sunlight, or the earthy tones of shoreline and stone.
The Hide:
Choose a plain natural hide for simplicity or a dyed hide if you feel called to colour and vibrancy.
The Filling:
Select what will flow inside your drum. I provide traditional ball bearings for a wave-like sound but you can infuse your drum with tiny crystals, shells, or stones, carrying the healing memory of the earth and sea.
The Weaving:
As you bring your drum together, each action becomes an act of sealing your intentions into the drum, creating not only an instrument but a sacred companion for meditation, ceremony and healing work.
Closing the Journey
Once your drum is complete, we honour the spirit of the deer and the waters once more, blessing your creation and awakening its voice. You will leave with a powerful ocean drum, alive with your energy, your story and the timeless song of the sea.
