'Drum & Wheel
Journey To The Rhythm Of The Earth

A women's circle of shamanic drumming, shadow journeys and seasonal ritual at The Yurt in the Garden.

Following the eight festivals of the Wheel of the Year, we weave together communal drumming, personal shamanic journeys, folklore, reflection and sacred rituals.

A space to reconnect with nature, explore your intuition and honour the changing seasons, as we drum for the land, for peace and for healing.

Gather. Drum. Journey. Reconnect.

A 2-Hour Women’s Circle of Shamanic Drumming, Shadow Journeys & Seasonal Ritual

DRUM & WHEEL

Journey to the rhythm of the earth.

Have You Ever Felt the Call of the Drum?

That deep, steady rhythm.

The kind you don't just hear with your ears, but feel somewhere within your body.

Perhaps you've always felt drawn to the woodland, to the changing seasons, to the old stories and traditions that seem to carry something of the past into the present.

Perhaps there's a part of you that longs to spend more time outdoors, to feel the earth beneath your feet and reconnect with the natural world.

Or perhaps you're simply curious about what happens when women gather together, drums in hand, with nothing to prove and nowhere else they need to be.

There is something rather wonderful about sitting in a circle, listening to the rhythms rise and fall.

No complicated music to learn.

No need to keep perfect time.

Just the sound of the drum, the company of other women and a moment to step away from the noise of everyday life.

Sometimes we spend so much time looking outward that we forget to listen inward.

To our intuition.

To the changing rhythms of our own lives.

To the quiet wisdom that often gets lost beneath everything else.

Welcome to Drum & Wheel.

A place to gather, drum, journey and reconnect with the rhythms of the earth.

Following the Turning of the Wheel

Drum & Wheel is a two-hour women's circle weaving together shamanic drumming, personal journeying, folklore, reflection and seasonal ritual.

Our gatherings follow the eight festivals of the Wheel of the Year, honouring the changing seasons and the natural cycles of life.

Just as the earth moves through periods of growth, abundance, harvest and rest, so do we.

There are times when we're ready to begin something new.

Times when we feel full of energy and possibility.

Times when we're gathering the fruits of our efforts.

And times when we need to slow down, reflect and allow something to come to an end.

The Wheel reminds us that none of these seasons lasts forever.

And that every ending makes room for another beginning.

Through our circles, we explore these changing rhythms in a way that feels personal, meaningful and connected to the natural world.

Opening Our Sacred Circle

Each gathering begins by creating our sacred space.

We acknowledge the earth, the elements and the directions, inviting ourselves to become present and connected.

Through gentle grounding and the sound of the drum, we settle into the circle.

There's no need to arrive knowing anything about shamanic practices or the Wheel of the Year.

Everything is introduced as we go.

Drumming for the Land, for Peace & for Healing

One of the most beautiful parts of Drum & Wheel is coming together in communal drumming.

We drum for the woodland and the land beneath our feet.

For the earth and all the life she holds.

For peace.

For healing, for ourselves and for others.

Sometimes the rhythm begins gently, with each woman finding her own beat.

And gradually, the sounds begin to weave together.

There is no conductor.

No sheet music.

No right or wrong rhythm.

Just women, drums and the shared intention of sending something positive into the world.

You don't need to know how to drum.

Simply listen, feel and allow yourself to become part of the rhythm.

Journeying With the Drum

Each gathering includes a shamanic drum journey.

The steady rhythm of the drum provides a focus for an inward, imaginative and reflective experience.

Sometimes our journeys are inspired by the season, the ancestors or the natural world.

At other times, we may explore the parts of ourselves that we rarely make time to listen to.

Our shadow journeys offer an invitation to gently notice aspects of ourselves that may have been overlooked or left unexplored.

There is no expectation to uncover difficult memories or experience anything in particular.

Some women experience vivid imagery.

Others notice feelings, thoughts or a sense of peaceful stillness.

And some simply enjoy listening to the drum.

Every experience is personal.

You remain in control of your own journey, and sharing afterwards is always optional.

Folklore, Seasonal Wisdom & Ritual

Each turning of the Wheel carries its own stories, symbolism and traditions.

Throughout the year, we explore folklore inspired by the old seasonal customs of Britain and Ireland, alongside the spiritual meaning of the Sabbats.

We might explore the return of the light at Imbolc.

The awakening of the earth at Ostara.

The fire and celebration of Beltane.

The abundance of Litha.

The first harvest at Lughnasadh.

The balance and gratitude of Mabon.

The ancestors and mysteries of Samhain.

Or the stillness and returning light of Yule.

Our rituals are simple and meaningful.

They might involve working with natural materials, creating a symbol, lighting a candle, making an offering of gratitude or reflecting on what the season represents within our own lives.

There is no requirement to follow a particular spiritual tradition or belief.

You are welcome to experience the circle in whatever way feels right for you.

Reflection, Drum Songs & Closing the Circle

Following our journey, there is time for quiet reflection and journaling.

You may wish to write about your experience, draw something that came to mind or simply sit with your thoughts.

We may finish with a couple of simple drum songs, allowing our voices and rhythms to come together before offering gratitude and closing the circle.

A moment to return.

To feel our feet on the earth.

And to carry a little of that connection back into everyday life.

Do I Need My Own Drum or Any Experience?

Absolutely not.

You don't need to have attended a shamanic circle before.

You don't need to understand the Wheel of the Year.

And you don't need to identify as a witch or follow any particular spiritual path.

Curiosity and an open mind are enough.

If you have your own drum, you're welcome to bring it.

If you don't, you can borrow a rattle from me pleas ask about borrowing one when booking.

Who Is Drum & Wheel For?

For the woman who feels drawn to the earth and the changing seasons.

For the woman who loves folklore, ritual and the old ways.

For the woman who wants to explore her intuition and inner world.

For the woman who feels something stir when she hears the sound of a drum.

For the woman who wants to gather with others in a space where she can simply be herself.

And for the woman who doesn't quite know why she's drawn to it, but feels curious enough to come and discover.

You don't need to understand the calling.

Sometimes it's enough simply to follow it.
